I am definitely on a clothing kick. A lot (probably too much) of my brain power and creative energy at the moment seems to default to dreaming up the next lovely outfit, blouse to make, various wardrobe holes to fill, and other things of dire importance :)... I'll come around in a bit and focus on drawing or cooking or whatever it may be, but for now--look at this dress I just saw on etsy:
It's in Kcoline's shop and is a little out of ye olde price range, or I would snap that pretty baby up in a hot minute. I may have to try and make my version of it. The description says it's made of mojair, which heretofore I've not worked with, but it seems doable.
Here's another thing I need to try and make from here, of course:
I saw it this weekend at the actual Anthro store and it was one of those clothing moments: had to have. Had to. The picture doesn't do a lot for me, but in person it looks like a vintage sailor-type blouse that I just know will be super-duper versatile. I found an inexpensive crepe-backed satin at Joann's that could work and am now trying to modify one of the patterns I already have so that will be one less purchase required. The crocheted aspect I'm still working on, but I have ideas...
While I was at Joann's, I found these little beauties which are called flocked beads, which probably everyone in the world has heard of but me, and they are just the neatest little things I've ever seen! And even better--they were on sale and a strand of 10 was only 97 cents!! I should have bought all they had left but as it is I have a million ideas for them--decorating a sweater, making them buttons, but first things first, I wanted them in necklace form:
Another view:
That ribbon, by the way, is the same I used here.
In other news, still sewing. I had a frustrating day of it--lots of effort with very uneven results. So I am listening to a book on CD in a soothing English accent, sipping tea, trying to make it all better.
These lovely little tights are helping the spirit, too, I must say :)
And won't that necklace be so perfect with that skirt/tights combo?
*(As a little reminder for those of you interested, there are lots of wardrobe remix photos (including the one above), plus food pics and lots of others that don't always make it on to the blog that I've posted over on Flickr...)
